Infusion therapy at our hospital
Our facility offers a range of infusion services, including iron infusion and IV hydration. Outpatient infusion and transfusion is also available.
Pretransfusion testing
Pretransfusion testing involves "type and screen" to determine donor or recipient compatibility. A type and screen is good for 72 hours. For example, you can have your type and screen drawn on a Friday and have your transfusion on a Monday.
Preparing for an infusion
Before an infusion, we recommend that you take all your scheduled medications and dress comfortably. We offer snacks, but you may also bring your own. We try to give you a comfortable experience, including providing recliners and flat-screen TVs.
